HEPA, also called High Efficiency Particular Air Filters, are air filters designed to remove 99.97% of all particles 0.3 microns or larger in size from the air that passes through it. HEPA filters are commonly used in hospitals, clean rooms, and other sensitive environments to improve air quality, reduce allergens and airborne contaminants, and to help prevent the spread of airborne diseases. They are also used in home air purifiers to help reduce the number of airborne particles such as dust, pollen, pet dander, and other allergens.
